COUN 560: Social and Cultural Diversity

This is the libguide for the counseling course, COUN 560 (Social and Cultural Diversity).

During the course, you will be expected to complete a social advocacy project for a marginalized group and give a narrated presentation on it. The following resources will help you with completing your project.

An initial phase for your project is to determine a specific need for advocacy for a marginalized group of people.

A good way to begin this is by searching databases, websites, including news sites, and other materials to identify groups of people and their needs. Personal or referred knowledge would also be useful in identifying a marginalized group of people and their need for advocacy.

If you elect to work with an established organization or group, these resources will assist you in finding out its history of advocacy.
